We at SGN skis wholeheartedly support the climate strike Fridays For Future, which was first initiated by Swedish Greta Thunberg.
Although we do not agree with the argument, we also recognize that a strike is not a valid reason for absence in many Norwegian schools. Yes, it is important to get involved politically for things you are passionate about, but in this case the majority of the strikers are neither of legal age nor entitled to vote, while at the same time they are left with the consequences for current politics. We therefore believe that a strike is a natural, peaceful and important measure that we want to support wholeheartedly!
SGN skis is founded on the commitment of a large number of people, and we therefore want to inform that commitment such as participation in the climate strike, regardless of whether it results in an invalid absence, will be considered positive in a potential future job application, application for a team place or other involvement with SGN skis. We are also keenly concerned that snowy winters must continue, so we therefore want to give a thumbs up and full support to Fridays For Future.
